It’s that time of year again when men are put to the test to see just how imaginative they can be on the big old cheese fest called Valentine’s Day.
Now the most important thing to clear up is, no matter how much the girl you’re kind of seeing/girlfriend/wife/mistress claims she doesn’t believe in Valentines…get her a gift.
Seriously, get her a gift.
Its really simple, women love to brag about how great/thoughtful/kind/generous their man is...so even if you just send her a single rose to her office...do it! Oh and of course the delivery of a gift that can be witnessed by others (the more the merrier) is a HUGE bonus. You sooooo don't want to be the asshole that didn't do anything because "Valentine's means nothing because I show you I love you everyday". Tut, tut.
So onto the far more exciting topic of what women want. Shopping, surprises, projects and drama in no particular order. But for Valentine’s Day that means shopping (at Tiger Tem) and surprises (when she’s presented with that perfect gift).
To make it all a bit easier, here are my tips on how to give a great valentine’s gift. And coincidentally it’s a pretty good selection of gifts we have in store at Tiger Tem.
And don’t think you can’t get gifts if you’re not in a relationship, use this as a perfect excuse to spoil yourself rotten! Valentines is for those who love others as well as themselves.
Great packaging is the difference between an impressive gift and a gift. Put a single rose in a long black box with a single red bow and that’s an impressive gift. A single rose on a thorny stem, that’s just a gift...of sorts.
The first thing a woman sees with her Valentines gift is THE packaging. Good packaging makes it a fabulous gift before its even been opened. Don’t choose something that looks a bit sterile and mass market, you want something with some flair, some creativity, and some originality. No matter what your gift is, I’d strongly recommend you put it in a box with a nice fat bow.
One totally spot-on gift like those shoes, or those earrings, or that bag are always welcome but I can guarantee every woman loves a fabulous gift box full of lots of little treats for her (and that’s exactly what we have in Tiger Tem).
As most of my readers know, we have a boutique in Lagos. The address is 22 Musa Yaradua St, VI.
AND I'm very pleased to announce that while we wait for our official online retail website launch, we have set up a temporary store on Ebay. So at least now my readers who don't live in Lagos can get a piece of Tiger Tem. Its brand new so for now its just limited selection of good stuff so get to bidding people!
These fabulous bangles are available in our boutique.
We only have about ten of these absolutely stunning Swarovski crystal bangles left in our boutique so hurry! They are beee-yooo-ti-ful. Setiously, every time I wear mine, no matter where I am, I get rushed by women asking where they're from. Please note not all colours pictured are available.
These are available from our temporary eBay store...http://stores.ebay.com/Tiger-Tem
We're (still) waiting for the wizards to finish their magic on the fabulous new website.
Or how about this gorgeous little compact mirror? We all need one so it might as well be an absolutely fabulous one. Available in a wider range of colours and shapes from the Boutique.
One of my favourite pieces I've designed for the boutique. Love it and we have a wide range of colours available...black, brown, bronze, pink, purple, baby blue, cobalt, red, green, orange.....There are a few listed here as well
I should really just call this post I Love Tiger Tem as its a selection of my favourite things. LOVE this bag, our fabulous Goldfinger. Mine's an olive green and its been all over the world with me...never going to let that baby go. Available in our boutique but will see if I can get a couple online soon.
Tiger Tem went down a storm in Dubai last time I was there. We have a few pieces in a supercute boutique called S*uce and another called Fozaza. This is the owner of Fozaza holding the one she bought for herself. Its the Belle clutch in royal blue aso-oke, it comes in loads of different colours and prints and is available in the boutique. Make sure you choose an equally fabulous brooch for yours!
And in the spirit of expansion I'm going to slowly introduce a few new brands through the course of the year. I'll test the market with a few pieces to see how well they go down. I've got my eye on GoldenBleu big time. LOVE their stuff. This one is available online at
I kid you not when I say I was wearing this on an evening out in London and a woman refused to leave me alone once she saw it. Once I told her I had a boutique, she was like so its technically for sale....and needless to say, as miffed as I was to be robbed of a key accessory to my outfit....she bought the ring off me! There are literally 3 left in the boutique, black, red and white. Either the snake or the flower. Hurry, hurry!
I love these eye masks, we only have a a few left in the boutique. I always fly with mine and I've noticed people always look at me suspiciously until they realise its an eyemask!
And if you want to get something little for him...this ought to do the trick!
Happy Valentine's Day eveyone.
